HGQ Committee Roles & Responsibilities

Executive Positions:

  • President
    • Responsible for the HGQ
    • Chair Committee Meetings
    • Chair Annual General Meeting
    • Address members at Scientific Meetings
    • Provide agenda for each meeting
    • Provide President’s report for newsletters and AGM
    • Represent HGQ at awards nights, national groups, external events etc
  • Secretary
    • Update HGQ business address (secretary’s work address)
    • Send and receive letters, emails or other documents
    • Advise the President or Treasurer about urgent matters that arise from letters or other documents
    • Organise committee nominations for the AGM
    • Organise committee meetings & AGM
    • Prepare and sent out committee meeting agenda
    • Record, prepare and sent out meetings minutes
    • Gathering and presenting any relevant documents
  • Treasurer
    • Maintain records of all financial transactions including receipts, invoices and statements
    • Issue receipts, invoices and remittance advice
    • Complete all approved payments
    • Provide treasurer’s report for each meeting
    • Organise financial audit & submission of annual return to Office of Fair Trading

Coordinator Positions:

  • Newsletter
    • Collate articles, advertising & reports
    • Draft, review & publish newsletters
    • Organise committee to contribute with content for the newsletter
    • Provide article/advertising submission/release dates & information
  • Scientific Meeting
    • Organise venue/host, catering options, speaker gifts & attendance certificates
    • Assist in organising or providing the speaker/s

    • Assist trade with any questions

QLD State Histology Conference 2020 – Cairns

The HGQ committee are proud to announce that the QLD State Histology Conference in 2020 will be hosted in Cairns QLD on Fri 9 – Sun 11 Oct 2020. Scientific Meeting & AGM – The Normanby Hotel

The 3rd & last scientific meeting of 2019 including the HGQ AGM will be hosted at the NEW Normanby Hotel on THU 24th OCT 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. 2020 HGQ Committee Nominations can be completed by clicking on this link. Nominations NOW Open – 2020 HGQ Committee

Nominations are NOW OPEN for the 2020 HGQ Committee. The committee will be elected by attending members at the upcoming AGM on Thu 24th Oct (SAVE-THE-DATE; more info to come). If you would like the opportunity to volunteer your time, skills & knowledge, take on a challenge, and give back to the local & wider histology community, nominate for the 2020 HGQ committee here . 

Scientific Meeting – Joint AIMS/HGQ 2019

The upcoming joint scientific meeting, proudly sponsored by Trajan, will be hosted by AIMS and HGQ at The Pineapple Hotel on Thursday 22nd August 2019 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at The Pineapple Hotel (Full itinerary via link below). The theme of the presentations for this event is “LIVER”. Canapés & Beverages provided prior to the presentations. Cost – AIMS & HGQ members – FREE; Non-members – $20 (Pay on arrival).
